Biography

Joe picked up the electric guitar at age 12 and learned to play the instrument through his personal study, and admiration, of guitar icons of the 1980s and 90s. Joe attended Berklee College of Music after high school and elected to major in Music Performance and graduated in May of 2011. At Berklee, Joe's musical talents expanded, as he branched out into advanced music theory studies, and classical composition. Joe is an active producer, song writer, and manager of several musical acts; spanning from hard-hitting rock to ambient solo acoustic projects. His ability to network with musicians on a regional (or national) level is made possible his tenacity and devotion to any project he is working on. Aside from being an accomplished live and session guitar player, Joe is an experienced guitar instructor. Over the past 2 years, Joe has developed a true understanding of the technical side of music production; where his skillset allows him to communicate new musical ideas quickly and efficiently without bogging down a session. Joe is currently playing guitar for 'Dearest Pinky' (Boston area band, under the music direction of Berklee faculty member Scott Tarulli), Metal band Meridien and his instrumental project the Joe Devenney Band.
